After meandering back through the blog I realised I hadn't posted a pic of my challenge photo, so here it is..... a host of golden daffodils - well, cream actually.
My first thoughte were the Wordsworth poem with the line about 'a host of golden daffodils' I can 'see ' what miss~nance is describing too... I actually thought similiar thoughts to my idea for my fish... The closest daffys really 3D then slowly become less embellished as they recede into the background...
One of the things I like about the piture is the sharp cntrast in the colours especailly between the darkest green and the yellow - looking forward to seeing what you come up with :)

They are just beautiful. I can see heavy quilting or even dimensional work in the trumpets.

I've decided what I'd like to do with them, and my thoughts are pretty close to yours Sharon - the 3D - receding idea, but with a bit of a twist.
I'll post more when I've refined my idea a bit.
