Another fish...
I found this woven ribbon fish whilst I was 'browsing' the net... I don't think I will use it as part of my quilt but I found it interesting... I am realising that I need to start narrowing it down otherwise I will suffer from 'net trance/fever'...

At a fibre retreat I got to make a fish, similar weaving technique, using flax. Freshly cut flax so after it dried it looked quite different. I quickly discovered I need at least two more fingers on each hand but it was amazing how the last 'tail' woven in then held it all together. I completely failed at making the swan but it was fascinating watching an 80 year old, with arthritic hands made it so quickly. She told of how they would make these things on the beach in Hawaii and the children would float them in the sea.
